Melinda will share her 30 years of experience in creating award-winning hand lettering for clients such as Random House, Rolling Stone magazine, The New York Times, The U.S. Postal Service, and Chronicle Books. She will conduct a live demonstration of her process, while attendees will create their own custom lettering. The class will start drawing letterforms with a mechanical pencil and paper, and finish by designing the final vector art. During this process, Melinda will review the anatomy of letters, explain how to create a cohesive-looking font, and provide tips for translating your work into vector art.
