Here’s how these things typically go: I make a presentation that has a lot of photos. I try to keep it pretty light and make everyone laugh, but about ten minutes in, I realize that the laughter is feeling a little more forced. That’s when I back off the stupid jokes a little bit and talk over whatever photo is on the screen. As I cruise up to the 40-minute mark, I see some folks checking their phones and the occasional over-worked design student nodding off. That’s when I hit ’em with one or two questionable jokes to keep everyone on their toes! Mostly it’s about fonts, and working on our book, but really it’s just about life.
