Melinda will share her 30 years of experience in creating award-winning hand lettering for clients such as Random House, Rolling Stone magazine, The New York Times, The U.S. Postal Service, and Chronicle Books. She will conduct a live demonstration of her process, while attendees will create their own fonts and then apply them to book cover designs. During this process, Melinda will review letter anatomy and explain how to make a font that is experimental yet cohesive and legible. In the second session, she will guide attendees in using their custom fonts to create an engaging, well-designed book cover. This workshop comprises 2 group Zoom sessions (6/6 and 6/20) and a one-on-one check-in with the instructor during the interim week.
