Engineering the Word: the last days of London’s Type Archive

In the 1990s, the Type Archive saved the remains of a once mighty industry: the hot-metal plant of the Monotype Corporation, ancient materials of Stephenson Blake and innovative wood letter factory of Robert DeLittle. Team member Richard Ardagh will describe his experience of the site, the skills he learned and the richness of the material held there until its closure in 2023.
